Abstract
The article suggests the convenience to come out the characteristic "presentism" of the contemporary international studies to search the historical dimension in a long term within the conformation of international systems, in order to better understand the dynamic that moves, through time, the interaction between international communities politically independent. by covering, besides, an extensive geographical spectrum to break down the monochromatic and monolineal tradition to reduce the analysis of the international knowledge just to the last four centuries of european experience. such effort is not new at all, it has been suggested that to study more than a decadde with interesting results by the English International Relations school. According to the author is worth exploring, in an extensive way, that international systems are concomitants to our own civilized experience. By joining the civilizations, international systems conceive and develop a necessary and historical cycle that not always take place by giving birth to new historical cycles. In his opinion, the examination of those old trajectories may give worthy teaching to the contemporary worldwide internationalists.
