Status y distribución de crocodylus acutus en la costa de Jalisco, México

Abstract
DURING 1989, TWENTY ONE MANGROVE AREAS, COASTAL LAGOONS AND ESTUARIES, 1 - 7 KMS IN LENGTH, WERE SURVEYED ALONG THE COAST OF JALISCO, MEXICO, IN ORDER TO DETERMINE THE PRESENCE OF CROCODYLUS ACUTUS. WE CAN CONCLUDE THAT 11 OF THE AREAS HAVE INDIVIDUES OF THE SPECIES. THE ESTIMATED NUMBER OF COCODRILES IN THE AREA WAS 260. 50 OF THEM ADULTS. THIS IS NOT AN EXPLOITABLE POPULATION BUT POSSIBLY ENOUGH TO RE - ESTABLISH A HEALTHY POPULATION, FOLLOWING ADEQUATE CONSERVATION PRACTICES.
