Banca pública colectiva para el bien común en la región nórdica

Resumen
Los bancos estatales de Finlandia, Suecia, Noruega y Dinamarca han desempeñado un papel fundamental en el financiamiento de los costos de los servicios públicos de agua en la región nórdica durante más de un siglo. Un modelo bancario mancomunado, de propiedad colectiva y operado por los gobiernos municipales y/o nacionales, ha permitido a los operadores estatales de agua obtener financiamiento a las tarifas más bajas posibles, mejorando los servicios y protegiendo su estatus público. No está exento de desafíos, incluidas las amenazas de privatización y comercialización de los operadores públicos de agua y los bancos públicos, pero este modelo nórdico tiene mucho que ofrecer a los debates globales sobre el financiamiento estatal de los servicios públicos de agua.
