Abstract

The ducks have been, since prehispanic times, one of the most important resources for the Cuenca de México inhabitants. The anatids were abundant both, individuals and species, due to the water bodys and the climatic characteristics of the region, till the present century when the lakes were desiccated by man. This abundance originated a great number of interactions between the acuatic birds and the humane groups of the area, interactions
that can be qbserved through the bone findings at the archeological zones and the capture methods.
