Unusual roofs in the work of Antonio Bonet
Main Article Content
Abstract
Much of the work of Antonio Bonet is characterized by series of sculptural roofs that he used as a compositional element. In La Ricarda House (1949-1962) Bonet designed a simple module that works as a unit but that when joined with others acquires new uses and more complex properties. In this paper we analyze the exceptions to this rule
to show peculiar, and sculptural, roofs designed with a single gesture and defined by an intimate relationship between their construction and formal expression.
