“Pernicious” Cubans under Surveillance in Mexico, 1920-1950

Abstract
In this article we examine the situation of Cuban residents in Mexico (1920-1950) who were subject of surveillance by the Center for Research and National Security (CISEN) in Mexico, this governmental office had different names during the period, which was controlled by the Secretary of Interior. With some of the stories we illustrate the discriminatory treatment these people received and that in many cases led to the final decision whether they could continue residing in Mexico.
