The archaeological project La Pintada, Sonora, during two seasons of excavation (2008-2009) recovered humans and animal bones forming a sample of 5 131 skeletal remains. This collection presents natural and cultural evidence of taphonomic processes such as weathering, roots, chewed, fractures, and others. According to archaeological research, the period of greatest intensity (in area called Campamento) ranges from 700-1600 AD. The most noteworthy arqueofauna of different excavation units are deer, turtles, leporidae, among others. The results in this study are part of a methodology that tries to emphasize all the elements that involve society and fauna.
