The French historian Roger Chartier, says that the changes begin to occur in the historical work from the mid-twentieth century, actually they originated from a take away by historians regarding certain research practices and forms work that had been made for more than twenty or thirty years ago. Thus the new cultural history emerges, becoming known by historians in 1989 when Lynn Hunt published a book that presented different ways and examples of this form of story, using text, images, rituals and so on. One of the common characteristics of this historiographical current, is focusing on symbolic representations, in language and social practices; proposing an original character to comprehend and understand the symbolic relations and social world, making from different perspectives, such as anthropology, linguistics and literary criticism.
