Abstract

From a gender perspective, this work will address the participation of women with[1]in the contemporary armed conflict to explain the gender relations (and conceptions) that have been built between men and women within the guerrillas: What have been the functions assigned to women and men? How have the spaces for the construction and exercise of masculinity and femininity within the guerrilla functioned? These are some of the questions that we ask ourselves in this writing. Analyze the political participation of women within these armed groups to historically explain political phenomena from the perspective of women and give them his[1]torical visibility that has been denied for a long time and that in the 20th century  began to take on great relevance. For its study, especially in the Latin American context in which armed struggles related  to guerrilla groups were fought or are being fought. This work will consider the incorporation of women into the guerrillas, both voluntarily and involuntarily, and the role they have developed in both situations.
