Abstract

The topic of this paper is to determine how judicial reform in Costa Rica has improved the quality and the work of the judges. The judicial reform began 23 years ago. Different issues were included in the plans: security, governance, judicial delay, access to justice, etc., as well as the judges’ training. That is why the main purpose of this article is to analyze some of the changes in the Judicial Power of Costa Rica regarding the professionalism of the judiciary during the last decades.
