Trust networks and experiences of scientific collaboration without borders: an empirical investigation from Mexico.
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article presents an empirical analysis of the formation of scientific cooperation networks at the national and international. Recovering theoretical proposals used to analyze the role of trust networks and the constitution of academic diasporas as an expression of ethnic-based networks, this work explores challenges and possibilities for the consolidation of a Jalisco as a node of international scientific cooperation. The results of an online survey are used. A google forms instrument was used to invite academics working in Jalisco to provide information about their experiences of cooperation with colleagues residing outside of Jalisco. The results presented here correspond to the data reported by the first 54 participants. Social network analysis and semantic network methodology was used to identify common elements related to the reported collaboration experiences and the possibilities of expanding said cooperation.
