Abstract

The first part of this essay deals with the relationship between the building process of a Nation-State and social Knowledge. The weakening of the Nation-State has had consequences in terms of social Knowledge in our countries. In the second part, it argues the idea of Latin America as an epistemological field, which allows the articulation of a middle-ground theory for generating social and historical models.
