Politics and identity in the historic setting of Latin American modernity

Abstract

The author explains the latinamerican modernity beginning with the modernity reflection starting from its global historical configuration. It means, since its origins, explaining the occidental, capitalist modernity. Inside this latinamerican modernity the author intends to look for a proper identity that makes it feels modern or inside the modernity, and it has to be with nation proyects, such as national unity. However, the region had lived between hope and frustration, trying to be inside the modernity.
