New processes in the rural world and the paradigm shift in Latin American sociology

Abstract
The author argue that a change have been produced on agriculture situation in Latin America, consecuence of the neoliberal economic policies set up in the region, where “agriculture plays no more industrialization material base and peasants withdraw food providers”. In others wise, they try to synthesize the principles issues worked at the Agricultural crisis, globalization and peasants alternatives Comission, at the XX Sociological Latinamerican Association Congress. An imperative for rural sociologists at the area, appoint the authors, that means looking for some interpretations that allows built different alternatives to the neoliberalism.
