Vicissitudes of democratic civil society

Abstract

Thos work develops a dissertation on the civil society concept, on which are analyzed for principal problems: 1) some characteristic of the emergence of the civil society in Latin America, 2) the extent and ambiguity of the concept, 3) the complexity of the relationship between civil society and democracy, and 4) the possibilities and certain conceptions risks of the civil society as compared to what is political and democratic.
