Abstract

Two pigeons were exposed to an unchanging autoshaping/automaintenance procedure during more than 190 session, in order to examine a subject independent stability criterion. It was found that a number of sessions ranging from 21 to 80, are needed to estimate the final performance levels on the four most commonly recorded dependent variables. It was concluded that this period of exposure is considerably longer than the more frequently used in the autoshaping/autornaintenance literature.
