Abstract
Based on experiences accumulated throughout an entire lifetime, this article presents a brief perspective on the ideology and achievements of Dr. Pablo González Casanova (1922-2023), who established the Open University System at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México during his tenure as president in 1972. The narrative intertwines academic, social, and human aspects, providing the reader with a comprehensive view of an academic figure with a broad and robust educational legacy.
