Abstract

The topic of the present paper is Mexican youth´s political participation, taking into account several explicative variables, such as trust in political institutions, political efficacy, social capital, as well as international studies on youth and politics that treat the concepts of cohort effect or life cycle effect. The last part of the article presents a quantitative analysis of a survey realized in July of 2011.

Victoria Isabela Corduneanu, Universidad Autónoma de la Ciudad de México (UACM)

Doctor of History and Civilization of the European University Institute (Florence); Master in History of Central and Eastern Europe by the Central European University (Budapest). Research professor at the Universidad Autonóma de la Ciudad de México, at the Academy of Communication and Culture. Her research interests are: religion, spirituality and communication and communication studies and youth. She was director of research at the Office of Strategic Communications.
