The findings described matches –or not– between notes and trends information published with the results of the election for president in Veracruz. The final discussion examines the sociopolitical context of the state that the PRI has governed for over 80 years, understanding that this context is the setting of the political culture in which journalists construct the events. The results describe what built the political events daily favoring the PRI candidate, Enrique Peña Nieto, and which were more equitable, which eventually is expression of electoral preferences of Veracruz, reflected in the results of these elections.
