Abstract

The article examines Participatory Journalism in the virtual space of Internet where news are published in a different way. The paper analyses Bloggings as a form of journalism and the consequences for Traditional Journalism.

Joseph D. Lasica, Rutgers - The State Universtity of New Jersey, USA

Writer, strategist and consultant, is one of the founders of www.ourmedia.org website dedicated to the media of the rural population, which includes homemade videos, independent films, oral tradition, among others. He is also president of Social Media Group and Outhink, a company doomed to enable social media and distribute their productions.
He also serves as editor and columnist for the Online Journalism Review and The Sacramento Bee, section science and technology, which has been awarded two Pulitzer Prizes (1985 and 1997).
