Ernest R. Mowrer, Northwestern University, USA

E. R. M. (1895 to 1984). He graduated in journalism from the University of Kansas. Subsequently, he completed graduate studies in sociology at the University of Chicago. He was professor of sociology at the North-western University until his retirement in 1963. He also taught at the universities of Michigan, Chicago and Arizona. In 1952 he published Disorganization: Personal and Social. He also wrote articles like: "Facts and Figures"; "The Family: A Psychological Interpretation"; "Life Styles in Suburbia" and "Social Crisis".
