Podemos: A new political force in Spain

Abstract

Those of us who launch Podemos can be found in the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology of Madrid, and in La Tuerka, a political debate program. We agreed that the model of Spanish democracy that had been established in 1978 was exhausted, and we felt the same about representative democracy in general under neoliberalism. What pushed us towards political action in early 2014 was a series of different factors.
