Segmentation of labor markets and migration of women: contributions from heterodox economics

Abstract
This paper explores various theoretical approaches from heterodox economics used to analyze how gender influences labor segmentation and its connection to international female labor migration. It is suggested that, by integrating critiques of political economy and aspects of American institutionalism from a feminist perspective, heterodox economics offers a deep understanding of the challenges that immigrant women face in the labor markets of the countries to which they arrive.
