THE RELEVANCE OF THE CCH EDUCATIONAL MODEL IN THE CURRENT WORLD: BETWEEN ACADEMIC AND HUMAN TRAINING
Main Article Content
Abstract
The baccalaureate has been a constant concern in Mexico's education agenda for over a century. Since the beginning of the 19th century, different models to train young people from academic, human, and social perspectives have been developed. From its inception, the Sciences and Humanities College (Colegio de Ciencias y Humanidades, CCH) of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) has kept these aspects in mind and has sought to
harmonize them in a particular way.
The article reflects on the development of the educational model proposed by the CCH, its progress, and the obstacles that the model mentioned above has had in the school. The relevance it has had for students is emphasized, considering that students are in the crucial stage of adolescence and are immersed in an increasingly complex world; the impact of the model on the comprehensive education of adolescents is also considered. The study is based on a bibliohemerographic review, and the survey results are applied to CCH students.
