Abstract
The analysis methods provided by the Statistical Software with its different ways of visualizing and exploring the data generate a great impact in the teaching of statistics, moti-vating teachers to explore concepts and ideas, which result in better learning. in the student. In the particular case of the College of Sciences and Humanities one of the purpo-ses is that the student appropriates a vision of Statistics and its application to describe the behavior of a data set in one and two variables. Therefore, we worked with two groups of the fifth semester of the East Campus, in the subject of Statistics and Probability I, Unit I Descriptive Statistics, to the two groups the subject was explained on the blackboard with real data; only a group was He later explained the same topic with the use of Excel Software. This work aims to reflect on the activities in the classroom, working as a team using a scientific calculator and the blackboard, in comparison with the use of Excel Software to support the teaching of Descriptive Statistics. We can conclude that technology effectively allows the visualization of concepts, exploration of data in a short time and with greater precision, giving the opportunity for the student to reflect, increase the capacity of statistical analysis and see the importance of this subject in addition to its relationship with other areas.
