Abstract

National surveys in Mexico in 2006 on health and childhood suggest that obese children in Mexico are increasing every year, according to data compiled by the Ministry of Health, 50% percent of Mexican children overweight and 24.5 percent are obese. 50% of that 5.4 percent of children show signs of hypertension, and 10.6 percent obese. The physical play is an option for improving children's fitness and health in general. The aim of this paper is to analyze and study the play preferences in 2536 school children through a questionnaire, taking into account variables such as sex, type of school (private and public), basic grades, for comparison with the game practice at school, at home and his favorite game. The results that the games played most frequently among children are: Caught, Football soccer, and hidden.
