Abstract

The differentiation is the most important concept in Bowen's theory. This implies the degree of emotional independence that a subject has with important people within his environment. This concept hasn't been studied much in spite of its important implications toward the understanding of the familiar dynamics and the psychotherapy. The main objective of this work is to describe, using the cualitative methodology, the degree of differentiation in women that had genital Human Papiloma Virus (HPV). For this work, interviews were done in depth to nine women with this disease. The dta was analyzed using the Atlasti software. The codes were analyzed and they were grouped in categories or families. Using this, the work makes a description of the differentiation degree of the interviewed women. The conceptual analysis throws results for a later identification. Finally, it does a conceptual discussion.
