Abstract

We present actions developed by the Institute for Mexicans Abroad (IME) to meet the challenge of channeling access to education, health, financial education, community integration and empowerment, to a population equivalent to 10% of Mexicans. One of these challenges is support that Mexican migrants require for high school education, to join the US education system in the best possible way, and continue to higher or technical education in universities and community colleges. In this situation, offers from different Mexican government institutions have been added to the IME allies, such as the SEP Open High School, the Distance University of Mexico (UnADM) —also from the Ministry of Public Education (SEP)—, the Open High School College (ColBach), UNAM’s Distance Baccalaureate (B@UNAM), and hopefully in the near future it will be able to offer UNAM’s higher education programs online and distance baccalaureates of other Mexican universities.
