Abstract

During recent decades, a growing number of people have expressed their dissatisfaction with the quite isolated position of many science curricula: seen as hardly focusing on students personal interest, society and technology issues, and modern scientific developments. To solve this problem of isolation, it was proposed to link school science content with context from everyday life, professional life, and so on. In older context-based approaches, contexts are only used as illustrations and applications.
